What is Membership Intake?


This process is organized by each chapter individually, but includes selection of candidates, education about the organization, and ends with initiation and full membership. To learn more click here for more info.

What is Community Service?


Be aware that community service is vital before and after joining an NPHC organization. Be aware that your community has to be non self serving, meaning the service you do can not benefit you. 

EX. education majors can not use their teaching practicum as community service.

How Much Time is Dedicated?


Joining any NPHC organization there will be a major time commitment. It is said that learning the history and information is equivalent to a 3 credit level class. After there is still a commitment to the organizations and expectation to be involved at events, chapter meetings, and various activities of each organization as well as NPHC. 

How Much Does it Cost?


The cost of joining any organization can be between $900-$2,500. The cost varies through year and organization. 

What is Needed?


for each organization they typically require that you have one or more of the following: 

  • A Resume
  • Official School Transcript
  • Letters of Recommendation
  • Qualifying GPA above 2.5/4.0 scale

What is Professional Attire?


Professional attire is required at rushes and informational meetings. 


  • fitted slacks (black or grey)
  • collard buttoned down shirt
  • dress shoes
  • tie 
  • and optional coordinating blazer 


  • appropriately fitted skirt (knee length) or slacks (black or grey)
  • collard button down shirt or dress shirt (white, black, or grey)
  • black heels or flats
